Getting the right one is likely harder than installing it. Posted 19:18 (#2075129 - in reply to #2075071) Subject: Re: anyone ever put a chelsea pto on a allison automatic? It's not as simple as just adding the gear in the trans either. Just because it has the cover on the side doesn't mean it has the drive gear in the trans. Have the SN# of your trans run by an Allison dealer. Posted 18:49 (#2075071 - in reply to #2074960) Subject: Re: anyone ever put a chelsea pto on a allison automatic? I have a T for a ht754, they are ridiculously expensive. One T on your oil cooler line to lube the pto, and bolt on and shim just like any other. You can get a regular style chelsea pto and dont need the clutched style. Posted 17:46 (#2074960 - in reply to #2074881) Subject: Re: anyone ever put a chelsea pto on a allison automatic? I would think the job could be done in 4 to 5 hours. This is not that hard but a does add a few more parts and time then a pto on a manual tranny. On the automatic they have to add a solenoid and oil lines to lube the pto as well as operated the clutch pack to engage pto. They're telling me on this auto trans installatoin there is way more stuff that has to be done etc. Iv'e installed air shift pto's on manual transmissions before and it was pretty straight forward by following intructions and checking gear backlash etc. Granted things a very busy right now at these sort of shops. They are throwing some interesting labor quotes ranging from $600-$700 to the one place wants over $1000 labor. Its an allison 2500 and it needs a pto put on it. ![]() Posted 15:19 (#2074804) Subject: anyone ever put a chelsea pto on a allison automatic? ![]() ( logon | register )Īnyone ever put a chelsea pto on a allison automatic?
